The video game series Hitman now includes a puzzle game with a turn-based gameplay system called Hitman Go. Each stage of the game takes place on a board in the shape of a grid, and the nodes and lines on this board are all connected to one another. Through the course of a turn, the player or the adversary will use lines to go between nodes. The gameplay revolves around the player taking control of protagonist Agent 47.

Touchscreen controls allow the player to command Agent 47’s movement during a turn by swiping in the desired direction. The PC “Definitive Edition” changes the swipe interface to a click, hold, and drag one that requires a mouse. All enemies on the board advance simultaneously when a player’s turn is over. You’ll have to achieve several objectives in order to progress through the levels, such as getting Agent 47 to the last node or eliminating a specific target. Both the player and the enemy can be killed by stepping onto the node of the respective targets.

Levels increase in difficulty as the player progresses, introducing new gameplay elements and challenging foes. The player can easily recognize each enemy type’s movement patterns thanks to their unique color schemes. While some enemies patrol the board in a predetermined pattern, others remain stationary or revolve on a single node. In later stages, you may need to collect keys hidden throughout the board to open locked doors blocking your path to the level’s objective. During his or her turn, the player can use trapdoors to go between two different areas of the board. The player can go undetected at certain nodes where potted plants have been placed. There are a variety of colored disguises to find and equip, allowing the player to blend in with a specific color of an adversary without being noticed. Objects that can be thrown are used to disorient and confuse opponents. Firearms appear in several stages and can be employed to dispatch distant enemies or obstructions.
